EXHIBITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.     Selection Criteria
Artitude & YAWA attach considerable importance to the quality of the artwork on exhibition. Decisions concerning the admission or rejection of an artwork are based on criteria such as quality and content of the work. All decisions affecting admission or rejection are binding and no reason will be given for the rejection of an artwork by the Curator or Committee.
Size restrictions are strictly enforced for practical reasons. Oversized work will be rejected. Maximum area of any work, including the frame, must not exceed 1000x1200mm. The weight of wall-hung artworks must not exceed 8kg. For ceramic, glass and sculpture, special arrangements must be made with Paula Killin-Mullins, YAWA Curator and Artitude Exhibition Manager. 
To be accepted, all artworks must:
a.     be dry and stable
b.     designed to be hung and must be equipped for hanging.
c.     have a pedestal supplied if they are to be displayed on a pedestal
d.     be labelled so as to unequivocally identify:
i.      the artist
ii.      title of work
iii.     retail price (inclusive of GST if applicable and Telethon Speech & Hearing’s 25% commission).


2.     Art Prize
All works that have been completed within the previous 12 months and comply with point 1 above will be considered eligible for entry in the Art Prizes. The Prizes will be judged by a panel (yet to be determined) on the morning of Saturday 7 June 2008. The winners will be announced at the opening cocktail party that evening.


3.     Commission
Telethon Speech & Hearing collects 25% commission on all artworks sold during this exhibition and for 14 days afterwards. If an Artitude patron purchases an artwork that was exhibited and first seen at Artitude, the 25% commission is still applicable and must be paid.


4.     Insurance
Please note that it is expected that all works are fully insured for the period of the exhibition to cover any damage or loss suffered. Telethon Speech & Hearing and Burswood Entertainment Complex will not be liable for any costs associated with this.


5.     Liability
Telethon Speech & Hearing and Burswood Entertainment Complex are not liable for injuries to any person, or damages or loss/theft to artworks or property owned or controlled by artists or owners of the artworks exhibited. Regarding claims for damages or injuries which may arise from, or be in any way connected with the exhibition of artworks, the artist/owner of the artwork agrees to defend, indemnify and hold the Curator, Planning Committee and others listed above in this paragraph harmless against all such claims. The Gallery/Owner agrees to insure itself at its own expense against property loss or damage and against liability of personal injury and liability for property loss or damage.


6. Security/ Surveillance
Telethon Speech and Hearing and Burswood Entertainment Complex make no warranties or representations as to the provision of additional security and surveillance to be provided for the (a) YAWA exhibition at lobby of InterContinental Perth Burswood and (b) the Artitude exhibition in The Astral Ballroom. Burswood Entertainment Complex is to provide its usual level of security and surveillance.


7.     Freight
Galleries and Artists exhibiting independently are responsible for organising and covering the cost of transport to and from Burswood Entertainment Complex. Delivery of artwork is scheduled for Friday 6 June 2008.  Further details will follow.


8.     Handling of Artworks
Persons with experience in handling artworks will be assigned to this task. Gloves will be worn and every effort at careful handling of all artworks will be made. Hanging staff will be supervised by the curator or an Artitude representative.


9.     Unsold Artwork Collection
Please organise to collect any artworks that have not sold between 1 pm and 2 pm Sunday 8 June 2008. For security reasons, no artworks are permitted to be leave the premises before this time. Please contact the Exhibition Manager (details pending) after 11am on Sunday 8 June 2008 to ascertain the artworks requiring collection.


10.     Sales
Payment will be made by not later than 15 July 2008.

Submission of works into YAWA & Artitude implies acceptance of the Terms and Conditions numbered 1-10 above.
