YAWA - Young Artists With Artitude

Telethon Speech & Hearing Centre for Children, in conjunction with Burswood Entertainment Complex, is seeking submissions for the YAWA (Young Artists With Artitude) exhibition.
Western Australian artists dedicated to pursuing art as a career, aged 18-35, will be eligible to compete. Independent artists and leading galleries will be invited to forward nominations to Kerri McCormick kmccormick@tsh.org.au by 26 February 2010.
When nominations are finalised, participation packs will be sent to the shortlisted artists. This will include a letter of invitation, terms and conditions, artist profile and catalogue details.
YAWA Artists are required to create two artworks to be ready by 23 April 2010. Please note, there are no provisions for the display of sculpture, ceramics or glass artworks, only paintings and photography will be considered.
These artworks will be exhibited in the InterContinental Perth Burswood lobby from 17 May to 11 June, 2010. Over 12,500 patrons visit the complex daily and this provides an excellent opportunity for artists to gain invaluable exposure, recognition and opportunity for the sale of the artworks.
The winner will be announced at a media launch at in May 2010 (further details pending).
The YAWA prize (acquisitive) provided by Burswood Entertainment Complex is valued at $5,000.
