YAWA - Young Artists With Artitude
The YAWA (Young Artists With Artitude) exhibition, organised by Telethon Speech & Hearing Centre for Children (TSH) in conjunction with Burswood Entertainment Complex, features Western Australian artists dedicated to pursuing art as a career, aged 18-35.
YAWA artworks will be exhibited in the InterContinental Perth Burswood lobby from 17 May to 11 June 2010. Over 12,500 patrons visit the complex daily and this provides an excellent opportunity for artists to gain invaluable exposure, recognition and opportunity for the sale of the artworks.
TSH and Burswood Entertainment Complex is proud to announce 26 year old Rebecca Anne Lee of Subiaco as the winner of Young Artists With Artitude in 2010.
Rebecca receives a cash prize of $5,000 from Burswood and her piece ‘Lamp Posts Australia’ will become part of the prestigious art collection at the Complex.

22 young Western Australian artists were selected as YAWA finalists, with their work showcased in a special preview exhibition in the Lobby of InterContinental Perth Burswood.
Rebecca was overjoyed to win YAWA, describing the award as a great honour. The young artist’s qualifications include a BA Communication and Contemporary Arts from Edith Cowan University, with a Major in Photography.
“My photographic collages bring out the deepest messages with the simplest compositions. Recent works feature environments created by mankind,” said Rebecca.
The YAWA prize (acquisitive) provided by Burswood Entertainment Complex is valued at $5,000.
